Collateral Requirements

Documents to be submitted  by the customer:

  • Legible and valid/update two-sided copy of identification card of the participants (debtor, co-debtor and guarantor).
  • Copy of social security employee slip of the participants.
  • Copy of a utility service bill or any other document for address verification.
  • Income related documents:

-          Original salary certification of each participant, whose issue date does not exceed one month. Such certification must indicate gross and net salary, time working for the company, position and should indicate if the participant is free of embargos.
- If the debtor or one of the guarantors has income coming from their own business, they should submit proof of income from a public accountant (in case the incomes are higher than $500 a month) or proof of income from a private accountant.

  • Appraisal payment.
  • If the guarantee is a vehicle, he should submit: vehicle registration report, copy of running permit and technical revision up to date.
  • If the guarantee does not belong to debtor, he must submit an authorization letter from the owner of the property to process loan and a copy of his identification card.
  • In the event of another type of guarantee, must provide information that describes property.
  • Civil status certification of the debtor and the owner of the property (issued by the Civil Registry), whose issue date does not exceed one month. 

Forms that need to be completed:
(should be provided by BCR personnel)

·         Form request with complete information and dully signed by the applicant.

·         SUGEF request of information form dully signed.

·         BCR Know you customer form, with complete information and dully signed by the applicant (applies to people who are not BCR customers).

·         Affidavit of economic interest group dully signed by the applicant, when accrued debt with BCR is equal or higher than $500,000.00 or its equivalent in colones.

Fill up the BCR life collective insurance policy from. When the accrued debt is ¢25,800,001to 51,600,000, submit the PAG form; when higher than ¢ 51,600,001, submit the form (No. 13). Medical exams request. Note: Accrued debt includes BCR debts as well as any from other entities.
